Missing 2018 Function

We recently downgraded to Inventor 2018.

In the drawing environment, I used to be able to drill down into the feature tree, and hide a component (part, sub-assembly, ipart, etc...) and then said part would be removed from the associated drawing view.

In 2018, the "visibility" feature is grey out?

Most likely that view is associated to the base view..  Check this option while editing the view.

When did you get your hands on Inventor 2019, if you recently downgraded to Inventor 2018?  Smiley Very Happy

I refer to it as a "downgrade" only because of the amount of time spent re-learning the new methods to do what was done in the previous release. Instead of moving onto the what's new / what's cool in a new release, we are constantly asking "I used to be able to do this in 2017 .....?"

I believe this works exactly the same as it did in 2017-- the last used setting of this control when placing a view is remembered for all future sessions until altered.  This is per user, not per template.

I don't recall now, but perhaps the initial out-of-the-box setting is opposite that of 2017; but I don't think so.  Just one of those things that needs to be attended to with each new version, and then we forget about it until the next year.
