Microsoft office remote app and inventor 2015

We are currently using windows server 2012 remote apps. Through that we are servered a full suite of office 2013. The issue we are running into is Inventor 2015 thinks that we do not have Excel installed. Are we able to get it to work with remote apps or are we forced into a local copy to use the functionality?

maybe I'm not understanding your question/issue correctly, but are you attempting to run Inventor on a terminal server?

If so you may want to rethink your stratigy as that is against the EULA for Inventor.  There are only a few Autodesk app's that can be legally run on a terminal server and Inventor is not one of them.

No, Inventor is run local. Our office products are served up though terminal services.

I'm wondering if Adesk has stated somewhere that Office has to be installed locally to work...

I don't see that mentioned here, just the recommendation for Office;

You will need to have Office installed on the machine that Inventor resides on. That machine is the one that is doing the heavy lifting and running Inventor. With either Remote Desktop or Autodesk Remote. All the work is done on the remote machine and only the "screen" is being viewed on the desk/screen of the user.

Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Well darn, I was afraid of that. I was just hoping that there might be a workaround.

Accepted solution
Nope, Inventor and MS-Office must reside on the same machine (CPU).
