Mesh Failed: Body Failure

I am attempting to run a stress analysis on a mouth guard like object. I place a force on the top of 6N and place numerous constraints on the bottom end. When I attempt to run the simulation it gives the 'Mesh Failed: Body Failure' error message.

I am not sure how to solve this and I have attached the file below.

Install mesh enabler to convert your mesh solid into a proper solid first:
https://apps.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=6950391119076900441&appLang=en&os=Win64

Then set up and run the analysis.

I worked with the original stl file in Fusion 360 and converted it into a solid in there, and then exported it as an .ipt file. When I open the .ipt file it does not give me the option to convert to a base feature.

I also tried opening the .stl file in inventor and then using the mesh enabler to convert to base feature but when I try that it is met with '1 mesh feature failed to convert to base feature'

Hi

I once recorded a video with instructions on how to fix this problem. Run the mesh view (in the analysis environment), and when the message appears, check which places are damaged. Then return to the modeling environment and repair (delete) the damaged mesh faces.

Chances are you did not fully convert the STL into proper solid in Fusion, but just used Fusion's ability to better handle the mesh as it is.
Inventor does not have the ability to convert meshes into regular solids on its own, hence why you would need something like Mesh Enabler (the standard app for this). If there is a failure, proceed as suggested above to identify, isolate, and repair the broken geometry before running analysis.

Hi! I think there was one step you missed in Fusion. You literally convert the mesh object face-by-face to a solid body with identical faces (just as Mesh Enabler in Inventor). This makes the body geometry unnecessarily complicated. Please take a look at the following article describing the process to convert the mesh to a solid body in Fusion.

Many thanks!
