Measure distance with different orientation from x and y

Hello,

I'm trying to find a way to measure distance between 2 faces, that they aren't oriented with the X and Y.

The big parallelepiped bellow the smaller one, is oriented with the X and Y axis. I want to measure the distance between the two orange faces according to their normal.

Any idea?

Hi Tiago,

Are these two color faces parallel to each other? If so, you can click Distance command or recently measure command and select these two faces, the distance is what you want which is not related with WCS directly.

Please let me know if it does not work for you.

@Anonymous

As @Xun.Zhang indicated, if the faces are flat and parallel, this is simply a matter of using the Measure tool and clicking one, then the other.  If not flat and/or parallel, then you can create a User Coordinate System for the skewed body, and the Measure tool (I'm using 2019, assuming it's the same in 2018) can be instructed to use the UCS instead of Origin.

Hope this helps,
