Material Style

I have created an inventor assy (.iam) but when i try to allocate a material style by picking the individual ipt parts in the browser a message appears

" material style could not be applied to the selected parts" .

I have on the same drawing purged all other styles.

Are the existing material styles on the individual parts stopping me from allocating my new style.

The inventor assy is a welded  assy is this causing a problem ?

Any suggestions welcome.

What version are you using?

Are you editing the parts in the assembly tyhen trying to aplpy materials?

The fact that you are using a weldment assembly doesn't effect the ability to change the material of the part.

Can you apply this material you added to a newly created part?

Can you post some images of what you did and are seeing?

All the IPT and IAM reside within the Work Folder of the Project File and are not in a Library Folder?

Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file
