Mate constraints

Lately when I apply a constraint between two parts, the part is not in the right location and I look at the constraint value and it jumped to some random number, so I have to enter "0" to get the part where I want it. Why does it do this?

Do you have Predict Offset enabled?

This is a killer as it is one of the few settings that persists in non-default (OOTB) state after restart of Inventor.

When making the Mate, uncheck "Predict Orientation and Offset" checkbox. (It's beside the "Preview" checkbox.) When checked, the current measurement will fill into the "Offset" field.
