Making a shoe last in Inventor

Dear all,

I am new to Inventor and don't know nothing about its functionality and customization methos.

Basically, I want to write a small program which makes a model of a shoe last.

I am given a base of a foot and girths at two places (EF and KL). What I have to do is to write a program that makes a solid model of a shoe based on the initial information. It also has to be adjustable, i.e. after I change some lengths in the initial data the model changes accordingly.

Could you please tell me if it is possible to do it in Inventor and which API should I use (if there is one)?

Thank you a lot,

I had to do a bit of research to see what a "shoe last" is http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.countryjoescollectiblestuff.com/media/images3/child-s...

I don't think you would need api - should be doable with core iLogic in Inventor.
But the hard part will be learning surface modeling to complete the task.

I think I could do it in a week or so, but would take maybe a couple of years of Inventor experience.

You may want to consider going to your reseller or another 3rd party and contracting them to create your first design. You could then spend more time working on learning the actual modeling side of Inventor and then later reverse engineer the assembly/code the 3rd party created.
