Major Bug with Frame Generator

What seems to be happening is I will insert two frame members into my Assembly. i.e.

AS 1163 C350L0 100x50x3.0 RHS - 2000:1

AS 1163 C350L0 100x50x3.0 RHS - 2100:1

I will then perform a trim or miter on the second member changing its length which then Inventor would automatically adjust the name. The problem occurs when the now changed member has the same length as an existing member. The result is

AS 1163 C350L0 100x50x3.0 RHS - 2000:1

AS 1163 C350L0 100x50x3.0 RHS - 2000:1

These duplicates have caused all sorts of headaches. Preventing me from performing a stress analysis or using inventor Nastran.

Hi! You can reset browser name easily. Go to Productivity Tools -> Rename Browser Names -> reset to File name or Default name.

In the meantime, I will work with the project team to understand the behavior better. Something does not look right to me.

Many thanks!

Hello,

we improved file naming definition, please adjust your file naming definition for Frame Generator, include <unique number> or <index> or some identification. See video please

Hey guys,

We have experienced this same issue. We found the fix above works for the "Display Name" not the file name as stated. This fix works (apart from the BOM splitting the same length/size parts into different indexes), however, to prevent frustration in future for others - is this going to be added to an update release? or was this an issue with updating an existing installation?

Cheers.
