machining

ok, so when i create a weldment i typically change the color of the parts so they dont blend together. what im wondering is when i start doing machining on the weldment how do i get the new surfaces to show up as the original color to represent the machining ive done. ive seen it in other weldments just not sure how they did it

so on the attached weldment im going to take an 1/8th inch off of the green surface. when i do i would like the new surface to look like steel to represent the cut.

If you are changing the color in the part, look in the browser and branch out the solid bodies folder and follow below.
