Lofting?

Hi I've been going crazy over loft for a day and a half.  I would like to confirm my suspicion.

Whenever I try to do a 3 curve loft of more inventor really doesn't like it.

But when I loft one part, then use the bottom curves from the loft to the next curve it works perfect?

Is this the way I should be working?  In rhino I just do huge chains of curves in lofts and it doesn't mind.

Is there a way to flip the UV of a curve it seems that what inventor is getting confused with...

Thanks!

Attach your *.ipt file here so that one of the experts here can diagnose the issue of why it is failing.

Hi! To change the UV in Loft, I guess you will need to change the section profiles or the section rails (vice versa). For this particular case, I personally would not use Loft. The foil portion can be done using a simple Sweep or Extrude (tapered). Then add a large radius fillet at the bottom.

Many thanks!

Hey JD here's the part.

If you try to loft all start/guide2/guide3 sketches gives weird results.

Thanks!!!

@gearjuice

Did you have any interest in how I would have sketched the Rails?

I have found that sweeping gives better results than lofting.

I was just making a general statement on my experiences with lofting and sweeping.

Sorry about that.
