Loft to Point Fails

I modeled the detail shown in 18Q as a profile and swept it along the ellipse. I am trying to now loft the last part to a point, but that keeps failing. What am I doing wrong?

Create a circle of .625 in thickness at the bottom (same as the wall thickness for the object at the top), instead of using a single point. Inventor cannot solve it to a single point unless you loft as a surface. However, lofting to a surface fails when we attempt to thicken it later as well.
If you'd like an alternative, you can use a revolved profile from the walls on top all the way to the point, revolved around the axis.

I made some minor changes and succeeded in lofting a surface to the peak of the dome, using guide rails and a single sketch point.  Then thickened and dressed up the edge.  Inventor 2022 format attached.

May I ask why you did half sections instead of full so I can learn. Thank you.

Not sure what you're asking.  The image in my previous post was simply a half-section view of the model so you could easily see the dome shape.  I didn't model it as a half section, although for symmetric pieces I often do.  (I've found for this kind of shape it's really difficult to get the loft to be smooth across the symmetric boundaries, so I just do it as one whole piece).

 

If you're asking about the Loft feature, I used two symmetric guide rails, one from each edge ending at the top point.  I could have added two more guide rails along the other axis, but it seems to be smooth enough this way.

 

Have you opened the model to examine what I did?
