Loft problem inventor 2020

Hi all,

I have some troubles in creating a simple loft. Who can help me out?

As you can see in my sketch I want to have the first 2 diameters on the left cylindrical. From that point i want to have 180 degrees to a smaller diameter, and from that point on cylindrical to the bottom. I thought of creating a rail to determine the outside boundaries. But for some reason the loft is not creating whatever I do.  Does somebody have a clue?

Looks like you you are trying to make a sweep not a loft

Hi! Indeed, this case is better done using Sweep than Loft. Create the center rail. Then Sweep along the rail -> select the outer rail as the guide. You will get better result.

I need to go from a diameter 14mm to 5 mm. Would you suggest a sweep with a taper? I tried but the result was not ok.

How simple can it be? This is what i need. I tried to make a loft together with the cylindrical parts but Inventor will not do it in that way. Thanks!

Hi! I don't think Taper Sweep will work. You need to use Guide Rail Sweep. Like I mentioned earlier, create a center line rail connecting the circle centers. Sweep along the centerline rail and use the outer rail as guide. You will get the desirable shape. Please share your attempt if you cannot figure it out.
