Locking rotation around z-axis with spacemouse

The free / constrained orbit modes seem to have no effect when using the spacemouse. Is it possible to constrain the rotation to be about the z axis?

Yes. It depends on the model that you have on how easy it is to do it. The upper level mice have a button just for that. The lower models, go under advance settings and turn on the "dominant" option.
