Leader annotation pulls part number from part rather than assembly

Hi Folks,

I'm using the Add text parameter to pull in the part number of an assembly in a leader annotation. My problem is that the part is referenced rather than the assembly that is the subject of the drawing and forms the base view on the sheet.  A different sheet correctly references the sub assemblies of a larger assembly when using the auto balloon feature so it feel like a BOM structure issue but don't know where I can change that?

Any ideas?

I'm confused, are you using a leader or a balloon?

If using a balloon, then it might be because of the assembly being expanded in the parts list if you're using a "structured" BOM.

If you are using a leader, then i'd have to test your procedure so it'd be nice if you could give a bit more detail.
I'm not 100% sure, but i think you can't reference the main subject of a view with leaders.
You can add referenced data of the main subject in a view label though...

Thats just how Inventor works when using leaders..
