I recently noticed the standard Within software has vanished, as did so many usefull products this year

"koff Force Effect koff" had to download the 2016 version again with the service pack to acces it.

Since all other versions have been whiped off the net.

In any case I was looking forward to try it some day, mainly to create lattice structures. (Even non adaptive ones, aka without optimization simulations)

Tough I was and still am hoping that we get this functionallity in Inventor !

Because generating it later down the chain to production has downsides, I work a lot with models that change with parameters.

And it would create a lot of extra work that could be done in Inventor.

I expected it would be the next step afther the shape generator but it has becomme quiet in this area, aka new usefull future tech was put on hold?

Yes I read about dreamcatcher but since it's still nothing practical(affordable probably) we can use, it's just that, a dream we can't catch.

I noticed the Netfabb "Ultimate" has this functionality, which most ofcourse can't afford, especially with subscriptions becomming the norm now.

This while Creo already has the lattice functionality since 2016?

With all the expertise Autodesk has in generative design, wouldn't it be possible to create this, even if it's "Basic shapes"

I hope other people are also looking for this functionality

PS: Give Factory features to people with maintanance subscriptions?

Hi there!

While not an Autodesk product, you should look into nTopology Element. There is a free version that supports several different lattice techniques. Similarly, if you were a Rhino/Grasshopper user you could explore IntraLattice. Both of these only output mesh data (unless you pay for it!) but it should be a nice start.

Lattice tools are obviously in the Autodesk pipeline and at AU last year we saw imagery of lattices inside the Fusion environment (as a teaser) - so one day they will become more commonplace within your typical Adsk packages. I have no idea on when, just that we've seen a few different examples over the last year or so.

Lastly, I'd encourage you to subscribe to the newly announced Autodesk Generative Design blog. While in its infancy, there will be exciting things there in the future! If you can attend AU, there are multiple courses that cover this exciting new paradigm!
