IV6 & Dell Dimension 4400

IV6 runs so slow that it is unusable. Editing a sketched dimension takes 10 seconds or more to open the dialog box. Can anyone make a recommendation of how to setup my machine to get the best performance. Here are the machine details:

Dell Dimension 4400
P4 1.6GHz
Win XP
512 MB DDR Ram
Maxtor HD 30GB (20GB free)
64mb NVIDIA GeForce2 MX

I also am running IV6 on a Dell Dimension 4100 (P3 800MHz, Win 2000, 384MD SDRAM) and it runs OK. I can't figure out why the newer machine would be slower than the old one.
Any help would be appreciated.

Could be the Geforce2 MX, and the associated drivers. I've got one of
those at home, and out of the box it isn't exactly fast. Using the
latest Detonator driver and RivaTuner to force it to a quandro helps.
The MX is the slowest GEforce- targeted at business applications.

Thanks, Jon.

Should I upgrade to a better video card? If so what do recommend? Remember I'm on a budget.

I have the latest driver and now I have RivaTuner. How do I force it to Quandro?
