Issue with Texture Manipulator

If I open the attached file Perforated Metal in 2017 - I can see the Texture Manipulator.

I do not see it in 2018 or 2019.

In trying to reproduce the issue - at one point I was able to see it in 2019.

Driving me crazy trying to get predictable behavior.

Oops, sorry - wrong forum, should have been in Inventor.

Hi JD,

This may be a bug or a behavioral change. It seems to be related to Cut Out option. If the appearance Cut Out is unchecked, the Texture Manipulator will show up. I will need to work with the project team to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi @TheCADWhisperer,

Thank you for reporting back!

There are two cases here -

  1. Regard to part “Peforated Metal.ipt”, it seems appearance asset are not migrated, you have to launch appearance browser and force to migrate. After that, it works well. (video)
  2. Regard to part “Expanded Metal.ipt”, it seems the appearance asset “Expanded Metal 04” was corrupted. After modify the asset by check ON/OFF something to enable the OK button, the fact is nothing was changed during the modification and then everything is working well. (video)

Ticket INVGEN-17397 was open to track it down.

By the way, could you share me a sheetmetal template (xun.zhang@autodesk.com) for creating part “Expanded Metal.ipt”? It is important for us to understand the problem more clear.

Thanks!

Thanks,

It turns out that the image files for Appearances and Material libraries were missing from my computer.

The only thing I can figure out is a recent uninstall of 2015.

Anyhow, a Repair Install of the missing libraries fixed the issue.
