ISSUE WITH ASSEMBLIES FROM VAULT APPEARING DIFFRENT IN TWO INSTANCES / FILES NOT UPDATING CORRECTLY

Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me with the current issue I'm facing. I am opening an assembly (top level) from vault, then using open on my sub assembly. The main issue is I will update my sub assy, but the sub assy will load / appear different in my top level. I have checked the sub assembly into vault and have also tried updating / replacing the file and it holds the same appearance. Other odd thing to note is the error when measuring the sub assy in the top level. Hopefully I have explained this well enough, please let me know if more information is needed to help solve this issue.

Thank you all verry much, Don.

@elliottdLAYWC

Hello, Don & welcome!  Thanks for your question and the video.  Are you referring to the appearances that are applied in the sub-assembly being different than the appearances (colors) as they look in the top level?

Chris,

Thanks for the quick response. The appearances of the parts (color/texture) is not my concern. The small pieces of bar on the top of my tubing are in different locations altogether. The sub assembly is fully constrained, but appears different in the top level. (also I should mention when I try to measure the sub Assy differences in the top level compared I got an odd error.)

Thanks again im completely lost on this one.

Hi Elliot,

I seems that there are two sets of the files, though they are named the same. However, the behavior does not sound right to me. If possible, please share the files in zip that illustrate the behavior here or send it to me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like to understand the inconsistent behavior better.

Many thanks!
