I'm using Inventor version 2021 and my friend using the version 2020. He can't able to work in the drawing that I have created in 2021.

Hi!!

It's not possible to open any kind of file in previous versions.

Tip: Export your drawing to Autocad format (File ->Export to dwg ) and send it to your friend to add annotations, etc.

@Anonymous  Inventor is not backwards compatible.

If you require multiple users to open and work on the same files without any loss of constraints or feature/model browser then all users must be on the same version of the software.

As stated drawings and other Inventor files can be exported to other more neutral cad formats but you typically lose something in that process.

Hi! Indeed, there is no such workflow allowing drawing saved in a newer Inventor to open in an older Inventor. You will need to export the drawing to AutoCAD dwg. Then use the dwg as a template or an underlay. However, it is no associative to the source drawing and the model.

Many thanks!
