Is there a way to resize the format text box in drawings?

When making annotations on drawings the text box scales with the size font used, is there a way to turn this off?  My issues is when I am making large text notes for the shop the text box will fill my entire screen.  Often I want to call out part numbers in my notes but the BOM is hidden under the enormous text box and I cant even see all my text at once.

Click in the box.

Ctrl Wheel rotate to zoom in/out.
