Is there a rendering software for Inventor? I'm new to inventor and playing with Material and Appearance. I'd like to try to make picture like quality images?
Does Inventor multi-thread? For the most part Nx does not multi-thread, meaning it takes one processor and sends all of its processing requests to that one processor instead of distributing the processes amongst different processors.

There is the "Studio" environment within Inventor for rendering. If you search this forum for "Friday Pictures" you will see some of the work done within Inventor and in the Studio environment.
Inventor makes use of multi-cores for drawing view placement and FEA analysis. Currently no software makes use of multi-cores for the part modeling environment. Since the parts are feature dependant, you can't build the following feature until it's previous feature has been built.

In general "picture like quality" is not possible in Inventor but it can do some "good quality renderings" that should be sufficient..
3d studio max or other programs specifically intended for rendering are "better".. But Inventor is "good"..
