Ipart Problem

Hello Again, 

 

Can Someone please advise me as to where i am going wrong.

 

 

the spanner wont enlarge, it just ends up disconnected and a mess, have i missed something? 

 

I have attached the .ipt file and also an image of what i am trying to do.

1.) Part of the problem is that your first sketch isn't fully constrained and you can drag the RH side away.

2.) Your Extrusion5 is fixed, so as your model changes in length, this will cause you issues.

 

 

I didn't even get to testing your table, if items #1 and #2 aren't correct...

@blair hi can you explain what you mean by fixed extrusion? i have fully constrained the drawing but am unsure how to change the extrusion.

You have a set distance for the extrusion for the handle. If the distance separating the box-ends changes, then your extrusion for the central body portion will be messed up.

@blair I am confused. I think this is the instruction where I have gone wrong but it is telling me to set a distance right? CAD PICTURE 1.jpg

Yes, you have a fixed distance set for the handle extrusion. If you change the length of the wrench, you central handle portion won't change with the wrench. You should be using the To-From option in the extrusion.

I don't see any fixed distance for the center section other than the width and thickness. I see a parameter and a multiplier for the parameter to produce a length that will adjust.
