I am using iParts in an iAssembly, I am having trouble getting the Parts List to show the iPart configurations that are used in a specific iAssembly configuration. Instead it shows the iParts in the configuration the factory iAssembly was last saved in. This means every time I reuse the iAssembly, the previous Parts List is no longer correct.
The Parts List below is correct for the iAssembly in the drawing, note the -80X part numbers.
When I opened the iAssembly factory, changed the configuration, and saved it. All the iPart numbers in the Parts List change and are now incorrect.
Is there a specific way Part Lists need to be done when working with iAssemblies?
First make sure you have all your settings for the base view correct..
Then in the parts list make sure you have selected the correct member to show the parts list for..
I'd guess that might be your problem..
The model state is correct in the view. I've tried that option before. It doesn't change the item in the Parts List. As far as i can tell it will only show the quantity for each configuration.

Have you generated all the members?
The image I posted you can click the check next to each member and the parts list should update and show a tabulated parts list when multiple members are selected..
Sounds like you didn't do something right along the way..
Did you maybe create the drawing before you made it an iassembly or something?
Try this..
Open the iassembly..
Do a rebuild all then save..
Then generate all the members..
Then create a new drawing and new parts list.. Does it work now?
I generated the iAssembly members as well as the iPart members. When i place the view in a new drawing and try to select the member it is overwriting the generated files instead of changing size.

@Anonymous
Can you use screencast to record everything?
Something isn't right and I suspect there is a simple mistake thats happening here..
But its hard to "guess" what that might be so far..
I don't even understand what you mean "its overwriting the generated files instead of changing sizes"...
I created a very quick screencast to show the general problem. If you think it could help, I can attach the files.
You have created your base view by opening up one of the members (children) and not through the factory file in the idw.. Thats the problem
You should using/selecting the factory ipart file and not a specific child to create the base view and then selecting which member to show..
Where these quantity changes driven by a pattern?
I have found there may be a bug in ipart quantites based on patterns.
I have created a post about my issue with it here.
I believe you can get around it by putting the pattern configuration in a lower level of iassy and changing the refrance component but it is not an easy fix.
