Can anyone provide me with the equation used to calculate the (Le) Maximum effective length of a involute spline.

@Anonymous with the numbers given I entered them into the Involute Spline generator and it came out with compliance. Can you attach you files or take a screenshot of your Design tab numbers? Thanks!

If you click on the notepad in the top right corner of the Involute Spline Connection Generator dialog you can get to some additional Results information. Hope this helps!

I have attached the loading conditions parameters used.

My design data is the same as yours.

Looked in the equations used shown in post below and they do not give one for Maximum Effective Length (Le).

@Anonymous this is a bit out of my expertise but very interesting. I think it has to do with the flexible vs fixed.

I did a bit of research, here are some articles that might help, but not sure how helpful they may be:

AKN: Involute Spline Calculation Formulas in English Units

Involute Spline Maximum Effective Length Le

Key/Spline Strength Calculations

Sizing Up V-Ribbed Belts

If you can provide a bit more information about what you are trying to achieve maybe an expert here can point you in the right direction.
