No there's not.. However in the oldversion folder is the last saved version (if you are maintaining the old version structure through your active Inventor project file).

he part was never saved - so where does inventor cache the data? is there no way to bring that up, i had several hrs into the thing...
If never saved, there's no way of restoring the information.

Nope.. Drawing gone..
I would suggest that you go to tools..application options..save tab and enable the "save reminder timer"
You should NEVER do that much work in any computer program without saving frequently..
so where does inventor cache the temporary data - it obviously takes data to create the file, its got to be airborne somewhere?
GONE
Lesson learned hopefully..
it has happen quite a few times actually - so i am not sure when i will learn my lesson - but i always seem to wonder why does, revit, solid edge, and such software allow me to save before the crash and NOT INVENTOR??? I am not quite clear on this...
Some programs have recovery options.. Some do not..
Since you don't seem to learn your lesson I would recommend the save timer above and also to place a sticker on your monitor saying "did I remember to save"..
If you were my employee and I hadn't fired you already I would place the sticker there myself..
by the way this is not my actual job - but i will tell you that in this and age should i actually worry about saving a part? isn't that 4th grade task or 2nd, should i as a designer focus on design not software???? I guess depends who you ask...
I should try the sticky note idea - because the reminder pops up in the sketch environment and can i actually save then an there.... but i think this is just another reason to switch to solid edge...
Whenever you stop, save.
Whenever you get away from the computer, save.
Whenever you go home, save and close everything.
There is addin to save every 5 min.
If its a 2nd or 4th grade task what does that say about you?
Look..
You screwed up.. Fit Shappens.. Yes it sucks..
We have all had it happen at least once before..
Some of us learn that the loss of data is possible with all software and learn real quickly to safe often.. others I guess don't and thus spend a lot more time making up for that..
But quit your complaining and get back to work..
No amount of complaining here or threatening other users that you are going to jump ship on Autodesk is going to bring your lost file back..
Take your lickings and move forward..
Have a nice day..
I like the way you think! but you still did not get my message - we need an Autosave!!!
Clear? we can all make a show 😉

Autosave has been requested TONS of times over the years..
There are very specific reasons that its not possible or stated to not be easily achievable with Inventor..
So they gave those people asking for it the "auto save timer"..
Did you put the label on your monitor yet? If not stop posting here and go do it..
