Inventor Style Library - How to customize/rename "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA"?

Hi,

How can i rename and then edit "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA" to "Object Defaults - 3DA" in Inventor both locally and in style library?

The attached image "Object Defaults.png" shows the Autodesk Style Library Manager. I believe "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA" is marked red due to a mismatch in filecontent when I compare my project Design Library and Inventor standard Design Library. I can easily fix this by renaming "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA" to "Object Defaults - 3DA" in my personal design library. The problem is then, how do I find and rename the same style locally in Inventor? When I enter my drawing template (.idw) and search under "Object Defaults" in "Style Editor" nothing is apparently visible. (see "Style and Standard Editor (Library - Read-Write).png".) Why is it now visible for me to edit? All other styles are visible, and I can edit them as I please.

The image "Standard.png" is just an example of what I am trying to do. By renaming all the ISO-styles locally in Inventor and the saving to my personal style library after I try to keep everything nice and tidy with original standard styles and my own personal styles all in one library. I wonder if I even need to edit the files ending with 3DA as when in part modelling og assembly the standard that these templates try to reference might be dependent on the original name of a style. So, if I change a name of a style it will simply ignore it and look for the original file. Does anyone know anything about this? My thought was to test it out, if I could figure out how to edit "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA" locally.

Thanks,

I forgot to mention, that I can actually see the style I want to edit under "Active Object Defaults". The object styles reference here are correct and exactly as i want them. The reference worked out since i renamed all the original ISO-standards and thus kept their references. When i click the "Edit Object Default Style" i get the error message seen in "Active Object Defaults 2 - ERROR.png". Not sure anything can be done about the filter, but maybe one of you can derive something from it.

They are Model Based Dimension Styles for STEP 242.

I create my Standard and only have styles I use in it.

Those 3DA are not what I use.

Hi Emil,

This is a known request but unfortunately, I don't believe there is a workflow to do that.

Many thanks!

I am aware that they are model based dimensions styles. I do not know what you mean by STEP 242?

Hi Shiue.

Thank you for answering my question. I thought that might be the case. As conclusion I will leave "Default Standard (ISO) - 3DA" and "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA" as vanilla. I will not rename the styles contained in "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA" and only edit the style properties for my own custom preferences. Choosing "ISO" as standard for 3DA styles should reference "Default Standard (ISO) - 3DA" and thus use my corrected style standards which are contained in "Object Defaults (ISO) - 3DA". This will leave a mismatch between the vanilla 3DA files (that comes with Inventor) and my own personal styles library. It is not a problem now that I know this mismatch is unavoidable.
