Inventor Shared Views created yesterday fail to view, but younger or older work

Community,

My coworker and I created Shared Views yesterday. After selecting the link today, an error reports "Processing failed".

If we select views created last week, we can view these successfully.

Why are views failing if shared yesterday? A new view works today, but I expect it to fail tomorrow, but then work two days from now. More testing required here, but does anyone else experience this? I look forward to your results.

Regards,

Jerry

I'm seeing this quite a bit ...

I believe there is an issue on the Autodesk side for this

I suppose we could go back to DWF or 3D PDF until it is resolved.

unless it's a weldment for the 3D PDF ... haven't been using the 3D PDF's like I use too.

Actually been telling them to just use Viewer Mode in 2020

Provided our customers use the links the day we share, they can view.

Otherwise, they have to wait about 36 hours or more before viewing works.

Not great for design collaboration.

Me too...

I noticed this phenomenon at the end of July.

As you said, sometimes it is good and sometimes it fails.

I noticed some things.

1) The email about read information doesn't come when it will fail.

2) Thumbnail doesn't be displayed on Autodesk Viewer web page when it will fail.

InkedCapture_LI.jpg

After few minuets  form open the Viewer page, the thumbnail comes, but the updating blue ring is still rotating.

Anyway, I am relieved to know that the others are in the same situation.

Views I created one and two weeks ago are not even listed today. This is getting worse!

Hello,

Try recreate the views.

I think the views going wrong once will not come back again.

All views are visible for several hours after creation.

The view that thumbnail is not created will fail after few hours.

Hello,

I encountered this trouble again today.

Same trouble has been reported by others.

Shared views fail

I found the workaround.

Upload model files via Autodesk Viewer web page. (Click "Upload new files" button placed upper right on the page)

All of related files must be uploaded, and this is troublesome.

If the files exist having same filename, Viewer may be confused. (I didn't test yet)

Ackn. Thanks for the workaround suggestion, Hideo.

It is still random which parts will open or fail. Same thing for assemblies.

No response from Autodesk on this thread.

Yes, sadly no response from Autodesk.

I have been using shared views for quite a while but in the past month or so I've been getting similar results to the rest of you. I don't monitor the links often as my customer only requires the odd look at the models. But it appears that they work initially and then if the customer tries the link after several days they don't work.

When I log into my account and try to extend the links I see no shared models at all in the browser. The appear to be deleted as if the 30 days have gone by.. however, unless we're in a time warp, that has not occurred.

As of late, links are becoming slightly more reliable.

However, the random color changes from the Inventor model to the Autodesk Viewer is unacceptable. These are the standard Inventor Appearance colors such as Cadet Blue and Light Red. They become randomly assigned colors when seen in the Autodesk Viewer. Not a great impression when showing to a client.

Is anyone else seeing their model colors change?

Anyone from Autodesk addressing this issue?

Jerry

Hello,

I am still having a problem with uploading. (I just tried now and no thumbnail came.)

Recently, I slink wrap the assembly and upload it via web browser.

The color issue cannot be seen in my environment.

@HideoYamada,

Thanks for the Shrink Wrap suggestion. I will give that a try next week.
