Inventor Pro 2016 stress analysis results not showing

I have the student version of inventor pro and no results are coming up after my simulation has finished. I've used stress analysis on previous autodesk invertor versions without problem.

Thanks in advance

You have not provided enough information.

Have you installed the Service Pack?

What version of Windows OS?

Did you install with UAC and anti-virus temporarily disabled?

Do you have MS Excel installed on this machine?

Can you attach example file here?

Yes I had UAC disabled.

Yes I have excel.

What type of file?

Also when I apply the mesh view to a part it doesn't show up.

Spoiler

I've tried it using simple objects like a hollow cylinder.

I can run the simulation and it will say simulation has finised but no results are given and the Result tab can't be accessed.

Q1. Are your holes the correct size for M20 threads?

Q2. Are you sure you attached the correct file here (there is no Analysis even set up in the file you attached - no Constraints, no loads, nothing).

Q3. Are you sure you have installed Service Pack 1 for Inventor 2016?  And Update 1 for Service Pack 1?  When I run iProperties on your file - it does not report Service Pack1?

The model runs fine here.

Are you planning to cast this tower, due to the fact it modeled as a single part or is it going to be fabricated from individual parts?

To add to JD's reply, why would you use and Extrusion>Cut feather and then use the Thread command. Wouldn't the "Hole" command make more sense and provide you with the correct diameter hole to be threaded.

This is just a prototype mock up I made when I was less experienced, the final design will be comprised of different parts welded together. I will tke your advice on board re using the hole tool

Your current design has a 20mm major diameter for a 20mm threaded hole. If produced this way, the Tape to produce the theads will fall through the hole.  Smiley Happy
