It is not possible to open a future model in an older version, but you can choose Save Copy As and the use a suitable file extension, e.g. *.IGS, *.STP or *.SAT in your 2016 version of Inventor. Then you can open that file in the 2015 version but you will lose the file browser history and you cant edit the file.
