Inventor Nesting Tab missing when I open a new document

I am using Inventor 2024 and have recently started using the addins Inventor Nesting and Inventor CAM Ultimate. When I first open Inventor I can see both addin tabs at the top. When I start a new document or work on a document, the Nesting tab vanishes. The CAM tab however, remains. How can I keep the Nesting tab at the top? I have still be using the addin by other means, but I think I can have it as a tab at the top whilst working on a part or assembly. Can any suggest what I might have missed?

I don't think you've missed anything.

The Nesting tab is visible when you start Inventor - that is as you would expect.

If you start a new Part file, "Nesting" isn't a valid "function" when working on a part - so it isn't shown.

Same deal for an assembly.

If you go back to the Home screen, then Nesting is a valid function, so the tab will appear.

If you create a new ".inest" document, then the tab stays visible.

The CAM tab however is 'valid' when you're working on a part or an assembly, or in an inest - so you'll see it all the time.

Think of it as starting a new Part file and expecting to see the assembly tab.  The assembly tab has no place in a part file, so it is hidden.  Nesting is the same.

Hope this helps 🙂

That makes sense. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
