Inventor Nesting 2025 Manually move parts and remnant tracking

Are we still unable to manually move and rotate parts in Nesting? Also, is there any remnant tracking capabilities?

Generally speaking, I feel like Inventor Nesting is not a good fit for a full time production environment where we are nesting hundreds of different parts and several different materials during each week. Would you agree? Thoughts?

We are using Sigmanest right now and it seems way more advanced.

Thank you

Chris

@chrisw01a , when you 'Create 3D Model' for the nest result, it will generate an .IAM file. You may manually move/rotate the parts in this .IAM file. Please note that with any manual adjustment it will no longer respect the item separation requirement specified at the time of nest creation.

The Process Material Library allows you to specify the quantity for the full-sized packagings / sheet stock. This is taken into consideration during nest calculation. However, Inventor Nesting does not support remnant tracking.

Thank you for the reply. We have decided Inventor Nesting is not ready for real world commercial production environment.

Thanks
Chris
