Inventor 2020...
1) Open BRKT.ipt. Create INEST using attached "Test Nest.inest"
2) BRKT.ipt is set to Inventor Generic material. The INEST file is setup with several packages using the Generic material.
3) Create nesting study and accept the default packaging or add more.
4) With automatic calculation on I get an error "Nest calculation has completed with problems on the following nests: Nest.#"
Any ideas?
My Goal...
By using the Generic material I hoped to make it easier. We design in many material and thicknesses. Really nesting shouldn't care by default for this. All that matters is sheet size, part size and any trim and spacing rules. Thickness and material are irrelevant for my needs. (They are important but not at this stage of development.) I'm just trying to see what effect my design has on yield, and ultimately, part cost.

If you hit OK what happens? Hover over the warning in the model browser, what does it say the problem is? Most of the times I've seen this it says "may not fit on any nest" or "does not close". For what it is worth I had no issues creating a nest from the one part.
I don't get an OK button. I get the error text in step 4 above with a buttons "Do not show this button again" or "Close". I expected a warning but it doesn't place anything there to hover over.
I can use the defualt template and generate a nest. But then I don't have any of the sheet sizes available from my template.
After you close the window there should be a glyph by the nest that is causing the issue. If you expand everything in the nest there isn't a warning or glyph? Does it make and show the nest?
I expected that but I don't get anything.
Error...
Browser post error box.
I can use the default template with a part too large for the sheet and get a warning triangle.
I wonder if my .inest template is bad?
Ah ha! Took a few tries, I tried on 2021, non-updated 2020 and the 2020.3.4 update. I was only able to get the error with 2020.3.4, . Maybe try rolling back that update? @johnsonshiue is this something that is known about?
Hi, has this issue been fixed. I am running 2020 and seem to be having the same issue.
It might be related that when I do an installation update on autodesk inventor 2022, the nesting part already has an issue. Normally before, once it reach 100 percent, it generates nested sheet and report while other nest number is still running. Now all at 100% but nothing happen
Hi,
I found my issue was a bug in our PDM Add-in that prevented Nesting from loading correctly.

I only have a few hours experience with Nesting and that was Inventor 2020.

I removed the hot fix update for nesting 2020 and it did the job for me. Some times a fix just breaks other things I guess.
