Inventor My Home 2022 vs 2023 and other discussion

1. My Home The appearance of My Home for Inventor 2022 is nicer and more practical than in version 2023. I don't like My Home in version 2023 at all.

2. language version

I use both language versions. Unable to download English language pack. The link is bad for version 2023.

In version 2022, the link works correctly

Mine remembers some, but not others.  I have not noticed any regularity to which files are placed in most recent order, and which ones are not.

I have the same issue, and many feel as you do about the new home screen. Too many clicks to get things done. Since the most recent opened, modified and saved documents do not always appear, I am unable to pin them, should I wish to do so. I really miss the "File Details" panel.

It looks as though your screenshots are from 2023.0 - the Home Screen got an update in 20203.1.

Some of what you are looking for has been brought back, and functions like "Sort by Date" now do what they say they do.  All the shortcuts - like "Open Containing Folder" and "Open with Options" are all back

The "Projects" section has been hidden under multiple clicks, and the "New" section just vanished.

The search/filter tools are now arguably better than 2022's Home screen.

Unfortunately for me though, the new Home screen introduced something that regularly causes the CPU to get over excited, so I either have to listen to the fan running all day, or live without the Home screen.

I have version 2023.1 from 7/14/2022. Recent files are not working properly.

@b.mccarthy ,

Thanks your feedback.

#1. Would you do me a favor to provide a workflow example about "Too many clicks to get things done"? Did you mean Open File, New File or Switch Project from Home page?

#2. "Since the most recent opened, modified and saved documents do not always appear.", are all these files under active project? If yes, this is a bug. Please let's know more info about it. There is one change in 2023 Home, only show active project's recently open files if the project defined the workspace or workgroup.

Glad to know you like the Home new functions in 2023.1 @pcrawley .

About CPU issue, it was tracked in our internal system as INVGEN-63695 which was reported by https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/cefsharp-browsersubprocess-exe-constant-cpu-usage-in-2... as well.

Regarding language download for version 2023, when clicking ? dropdown button->Help->Download Language Packs in Inventor, it will direct to download via Autodesk Account Portal (https://manage.autodesk.com/products/updates ) instead of Autodesk Knowledge web page, this is a new change for 2023 release, you can login Autodesk Account Portal and downlow & install the standalone language pack from there.

@dusan.naus.trz ,

Did you reproduce <My home version 2023 does not remember the last opened documents. It does not work.> issue stable on your machine? Last opened documents should be remembered with normally Inventor close & restart (but there is exception if Inventor exit unexpectedly).

I close Inventor classically. Join me on Teams and watch me work. Then you will see that My home doesn't work and other and other things don't work either.

Please watch the video.

Another thing.
Uninstall Tool has disappeared since version 2021. Please give it back.
We are now using version 2023 and other plugins like Factory and others. Next year, version 2024 will be released. How can I uninstall the whole package of version 2023 with all the add-ons without Uninstall Tool? Do you have a trick for it?
You have given many IT administrators and designers extra work.

I Agree... I hate it! They have gone and made something that was handy to use, totally useless...
