Hi,

I am not 100% sure what you want, but if you want to insert such image to a solid, you can use command Decal, or if you want to modeling with details, you can make extrusion with some of geometries and make circle pattern.

Hope it helps!

Hello @Anonymous

You could use Decal.

I have done a Regulator before. And i just drew a line, extruded it, and circular patterned the line. And added text.

Then applied colour to the extruded lines and text.

I have attached a render of my Regulator to show you.

I did not have a image of the the face, to place as a Decal. I just had the Regulator like you have in your photo.

So i found this was the best way.

Hope this helps,

Thomas.

@Anonymous you could easily use decal to apply the image to the face.

You could draw a 2D Sketch for the tics and numbers and extrude by .001 to create a new solid.

If you make the black portions a New Solid Extrusion and the red portions a New Solid Extrusion it looks pretty good.

(Make sure you close loop so the extrusion area can be selected.)

Decal is much easier but just depends on how much time and what you want the final look to be.

This was done using the extrude method as the decals on the existing compressor were all scratched up.
