Inventor: How to create a curved slot with variation in height

Hi, I have this problem with that curved slot, 6.5 mm wide that I am gonna do with an 6 mm ballmill.

I had a similar part recently, where that slot was not curved and got it to work with the trace function, but this time it wont work. most of the passes that i can use on it have stepdown functions and therefore causing trouble when it comes to those various heights, leaving steps on the finished part, I cant find a way to get it smoothly following that contour.

model attached.

Thanks very much in advance

Hi Xun thanks for reply, yes i was thinking about something like this, if only i had some line to select and follow that as a contour, but i wouldnt know how to create such a line, my design skills on inventor are not as high, I use only the CAM side of it mostly, If you could send me that file through where you have been creating that line I could have a look how you did this, would that be possible ??

I come to some problem in regards designing this 3d sketch on the part, I cant get it to work could you help me explain how you did it ? I can now use that Trace function on the line but its not following through, there seems to be some step in between the lines i have tried to alter.

thanks

Hello @CAM-01-UMCINNOVATION!

Please attach the part file and a Screencast so we can see the issue and help you out.

Otherwise we are just guessing and cannot provide the information you need.

Thanks!
