I am new to free form modelling. Is there a way to export a freeform wireframe to autocad format?

Thanks

Hello,

Once complete free form, the surface will convert to a normal surface, you can export to AutoCAD DWG for it.

Click File -> Export -> Export to DWG and select AutoCAD DWG format.

Hope it helps!

Actually I want to finish this in inventor. What I am after are the grid lines in the surface. I need those grid points to setout like windows ,panels. The problem I have is once click finish freeform drawing, those grids disappear also!! Is there any way i can keep those grids?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

That's what I thought

please show me what you want to build, then i will show you the way in the Inventor
, do you already have experience with freiform (surface models).

Hi! This is an interesting request. Indeed, we have heard some feedback wanting to keep the Freeform frame when the body is converted to Brep body. The issue is that by doing so, the body will become unnecessarily complicated.

I see your point of keeping it. Maybe we should provide an option to allow the frames to stay. Could you report it as an idea on Inventor Ideas forum?

Many thanks!

If you want to build something like that, then I need more information,
otherwise I can not help you
that can be easily built with inventor (freeform or surface model)

Isn't this the same image already posted?

Split or Project Cut Edge to get your wireframe mesh.

Attach your *.ipt file here and end all doubt.
