Inventor FEA - one or more bodies which are thin being treated as solids

I'm looking for some advice, I'm running an FEA and the following Warning is appearing before simulation:

"one or more bodies which are thin being treated as solids"

Attached is a partial image of the model, I can't show a full model for IP reasons.

Basically there is a Stainless Steel solid block attached to a 3mm Sheet Metal Casing.  The block is beinig used to lift the casing.

Does the warning message mean that the FEA results aren't treating the casing as a thin sheet metal casing?

Hi! I believe the warning is about the sheet metal part instead.

Many thanks!

Make up dummy assembly that exhibits the same behavior.

You can easily tell Inventor to Find Thin Bodies.

Hi @ianjwellings,

You can consider the following workflow (is dependent on what you want to analyse):

Consider analyses only sheet metal part.

  1. Create Split on the sheet metal part for the Analyses propose,
  2. Use Offset feature in Analysis,
  3. Turn off Automatic Face chain,
  4. Select surfaces manually,
  5. Define Loads and Constraints.
