Inventor error: "The attempted operation did not produce meaningful..."

What does "The attempted operation did not produce meaningful intersection edges from the face to face intersection. Try with different inputs" mean.

A solid extrudes successfully in one direction but for some reason I can not reverse the direction.

I have been told that your company is providing technical support to our company but see not way to contact you directly. Can you help on this issue as well?
