Inventor Customize Balloon To Call Out Additional Quantity Information

I can currently callout the "part number" and "title" in a leader text.....

…...but then I need to manually enter how many

(see attached)

is there a way to customize a balloon to call out all 3 lines of information just like it was a leader text as shown in the attached image?

Hi! I think it is doable. Go to the Balloon style -> Balloon Formatting -> Shape -> select "None - All Entries" and also add the properties you want to be listed.

Many thanks!

howdy ho!
see attached, I don't understand which is the "none" style.

Also, I can get it really close now, except that the leader goes straight to the center of what would be the balloon and the text is center based.  Is there just a way to get the leader (tail) and have the text "left" aligned?

Thank you.

Hi! The "None" style is the second button from the bottom. The alignment cannot be controlled unfortunately. Another option is to create your own sketch symbol with these properties listed.

Many thanks!

@johnsonshiue is it possible to somehow add labels to the "None" balloon option?  I'm assuming there isn't a way, but wanted to ask.

If not, is there a way to add the "Item" and "Qty" property to a custom symbol in a drawing?  Thanks for any assistance and have a most blessed day!

Peace,

Pete

Hi Pete,

View Labels are not document properties. I am not aware of a way to attach it to a balloon. Item numbers are assembly-specific BOM properties. They are not available as a property to reference in an annotation other than PartsLists and Balloons unfortunately.

I have heard some internal discussion about enabling the behavior. So far, we have not committed either way.

At the moment, the only way to do that is to leverage an iLogic rule to pass the item number as a custom property (or instance property) to individual parts. Then retrieve such property in a leader text or an annotation object.

Many thanks!
