Inventor Contour Roll methods

HI

Unrolling & unfolding method of contour roll feature in sheet metal parts uses cylinder reference so when I unroll my part in order to get a flat pattern of my part I figured out it gives me rectangular sheet metal(fig1) only

 

which represents that it is rolling as cylinder not cone ( fig2)

  + I found the unroll methods in Contour roll feature only for cylinders not cones.

so if I want to unfold a part like this in (fig2) into a conical pattern , how could I do it in inventor?

Hi! The point of Contour Roll is to ensure the linear extensions from a roll (elbow) unroll correctly. If you unroll the elbow, it may look odd.

You might want to use Unwrap command. But, it does not consider material deformation. It is a pure geometrical operation.
