Can browser node names be used/synced as iProperties? Or be used in drawing partlists?

Hello @Anonymous,

Please sync to occurrence iProperty\Part number manually or with VBA and then it can be true.

Something like this..

.

Update:  Also you would need an iLogic trigger (most likely before save) to update the display name.

Hi! By default, the browser name borrows from Part Number. If you manually override it, it will no longer be associated with Part Number. You can use Assembly Tool -> Rename Browser Node command to rename back.

Many thanks!

I need that "node name" in my partlists, so I can name the node of a valve it's TAG number from the P&ID. and put that in the partlist. If the node name changes, also the partlist line should change. If you could link that node name to a custom iProperty, that would be easy then....

Browser occurrence or node name is not a property that can be used in the BOM/parts list.  Years ago we had a program that read the occurrence name (named the P&ID tag) and allowed us to label the tag on the drawing/component but not in the BOM.  If you're using 2018.1 or newer you could use 3D Annotations and tag your valves and instrumentation directly on the model but there's no way  out of the box to do what you're asking.
