Inventor 24 AutoCAD block insertion empty/locked icon error message

Opened an I24 drawing to make a couple revisions and noticed that on one of the sheets the title block AutoCAD block was missing. Looking at the drawing browser, it was no longer attached to that particular sheet, but was present on the rest of the sheets. When I try to reinsert the block, I get this error message: "This block is empty (contains no graphical data) and will not be inserted". Looking at the other sheets where the block is present, there is a locked icon beside the block name in the drawing browser.

When I create a new sheet within the drawing, I AM ABLE to attach the AutoCAD block. How do I unlock and reattach the missing block on my drawing sheet missing the title block information?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Joe,

The behavior does not sound right to me. If possible, please share the files in zip here or send it to me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the AutoCAD block insertion issue beter.

Many thanks!

Johnson,

How do I capture everything you will need to see? Will PACK AND GO grab all the necessary files?

THANKS

Hi Joe,

Yes, Pack&Go in zip (everything except Templates and Design Data) will be great.

Many thanks!

Hi Joe,

Many thanks for sharing the files! I see the issue now. Indeed, Sheet3 seems to be corrupted. Though the AutoCAD Title Block is listed in the AutoCAD Blocks folder, it is not visible on the sheet.

There is a workaround to purge the corruption. Right-click on Sheet3 -> Copy. Start a new dwg file in Inventor -> Paste it to the drawing. The Title Block will appear. Copy the new sheet and paste it back to the original dwg file.

If you know how to reproduce the corruption, it will be very helpful to find a fix.

Thanks again!
