Inventor 2025 Driven Length does not update after Trim Or Rebuild. Even the G_L parameter are good

We always get issues from manufacturing because the cut length of extrusions is incorrect. Some even get welded without checking, causing a lot of production delays. Members that are mostly affected are frame generated - that is bend, notched or horizontal.  Haven't had any issues with vertical members yet

A solution that works is doing a re-trim, but not always, even while deleting the old trims, what we check after this is the parameter, which always looks fine

One solution that seems to give it a kick is changing the frame to something else and then changing it back again, but we cannot keep on doing this on all frame-generated members. Takes a lot of time

Wonder if there is a robust solution for this, we can use construction geometry where we won't have to do trims, but not worth it, takes a lot of time.

Has anyone come across this problem and are there any add-ins, or illogic to fix the driven length (rebuild does not work)?

Attached is an example where trims are goods, but driven length has not been updated, therefore wrong cut length is going to be pushed out to the manufacturing

Hi! The driven dimension behavior is wrong. Open the top-level assembly and go to Manage -> Rebuid All. Does it help? If you know how to reproduce it from scratch, please let us know.

Many thanks!

I already tried Manage -Rebuild, but it does not help.  We get our support from "Cadpro.io" They haven't seen such behavior of the driven length either, therefore they had no solution.  Autodesk hasn't yet replied or done anything about this.   I was hoping that anyone in this community has had the same issue and if they found a solution.

Hi! Did you contact Autodesk Product Support and report a case? Have you share the files with them?

Many thanks!

We did share with Cadpro, and since they managed to fix that file with retrim (not a robust solution & does not work all the time), they may not have shared this issue with Autodesk.  Below is the job I'm working on today.

Hi,

we have the same problem here.

after multiple changing the dimension of the sketch the frame modell gets faulty and we have wrong dimensions on our drawings....

Rebuild all does not fix the problem.

I made a video how to repeat the issue.

I hope it helps to find a solution.

We are using Inventor 2025.2.1

We have not yet shared this with Autodesk support.  We shared this with our support "Cad Pro", they did not report the case to Autodesk since they could not reproduce what we gave them (re-trim fixed the problem).  This issue has become frequent and is costing us money if we don't double-check (which is already taking us more time).  Yesterday we had 5 cases reported by manufacturing, all to do with cut length.

Painful isn't it, Interference Analysis shows all trims are good while in the background we are set up for failure by Autodesk.  Hope they will do something about this.  Good to know we are not the only ones having the same problem.

So i gave this issue to our support wich is "Mensch und Maschine" they already gave it to autodesk.

Autodesk has sent the whole thing to its developers with high priority under the ticket number INVGEN-83916.

I also hope for a quick solution.
The problem can cause high costs if you don't know about it.

Thanks for sharing.  Autodesk may have very quietly fixed this issue in the Inventor 2026 release (released yesterday).  Waiting for our Team Leader to install this first to confirm, as you may already know new installations can come with new problems, therefore safe for one person to do it first.

Good Morning,

the error has now been confirmed by the office.

Here is the link:

Unfortunately, the solution they have stated does not always work.  I hope 2026 version is better.  The version I'm using currently is 2025

Hi Kunal_Kishore,

thank you for reporting this issue. It's definitely a bug (reported by other usrs before) and we have prepared a fix for future releases related to this issue.

Thanks, Roman,

Is this fix available in Inventor 2025.3 Release Candidate2?

Hi Kunal,
unfortunately it will not be a part of the 2025.3.

Thanks, Roman

Do let us know when this Fix will be available. Our management is already chasing the design team to change the software.  Which I hope we won't have to.

Hi Kunal,

Just so you know. I had shared your files directly with Johnson and were told they did not know of the issue in early March.
I did try to get this resolved, but it looks like it has taken some time for the right eyes to look at this an acknowledge it. Glad it's happening.
Can anyone confirm if 2026 has resolved it?

Thanks for clarifying Ben. I believe our Vault is not yet set up for Inventor 2026. We haven't yet installed the 2026 version.

Hi Kunal,

I was more asking if any other users or Autodesk knew. I have not been able to update your Vault yet 🙂

Hi Kunal,

this is a public forum, so I can inform you only once it will be released. If you will enter into the Inventor Pre-Release: Research/Alpha/Beta Validation you could have an acess to Inventor Beta software and to more information about the status of issues.

Regards

 Roman
