Inventor 2024 Ipart not working when extended names is enabled in borwser display setting

Hi!

My issue is the following in inventor 2024.

I have an ipart with couple of features - some of them have to be suppressed.

I made a feature in factory scope, then went to the ipart table and on the suppression tab I added that feature and wrote "Suppress" in the cell. Then verified the ipart table. After this action nothing has changed, the feature is still visible when it shouldn't be.

I did some digging, and found out if i turn off extended names setting, the method above does work and suppresses the feature.

It seems like the extended name setting causes inventor to not recognize the feature.

On the example the Face draft (x45 degree) is the test feature.

Without extended names the table does work, but with extended names enabled the "Suppression" has no effect.

In inventor 2023 even when the extended names setting is enabled the long name not shown in the table and it works well.

I find it really weird and annoying.

Thank you for any help regarding the issue.

Best Regards - David Ernhoffer

Hi! The behavior does not look right to me. It might be an unintended behavioral change in the table-edit workflow. If possible, please share the iPart factory here or send it to me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand it better.

Many thanks!

Dear Johnson!

I have attached the factory ipt.

Another weird behaviour I found.

On the suppression tab i added the extended name feature, because it did not work I suppressed it from the model tree and it created another feature without the extended name in the ipart suppression table and that was the working one - I had 2 columns of the same feature in the suppression table - 1 with extended name 1 with short.

Thank you for your help.

Hi! Did you contact Autodesk Product Support and report the issue? If yes, the team is in the process of reporting a defect. It does look like a bug to me. Before a fix becomes available, I suggest you turn off the "Display extended information" option in Tools -> App Options -> Part.

Many thanks!
