Inventor 2023.4 - Dimensioning a coil's centerline in .idw

As the title suggests,  I'm having an issue in Inventor 2023.4 in the .idw environment, where I've created a 2d sketch of the centerline of a coil in the top-view, and Inventor refuses to attach a dimension to it.  The centerline was created by projecting both the coil's O.D. and I.D., creating a dimension between those to get the overall width, and then dimensioning from the inside to the centerline and using the overall width/2 as the value for the centerline dimension in the sketch.

Is there a way to generate a centerline dimension in the drawing view of the coil's centerline?

Can you just make a surface in the model of the CL of the coil and then include the surface in the drawing?

I hadn't thought of that...  I'll give it a try.
