Inventor 2022 model not exporting to parasolid text file

Hi,

I'm having trouble exporting inventor parts to parasolid text files in Inventor 2022.5.2. Exported files are coming out at 39kb (should be 8000 or so). Seems to happen to certain files but not others. Perhaps similar to this issue https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Autodesk-Inventor-... however that should have been resolved in earlier versions of inventor.
I've attached a part that is currently having this issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Jack

Hi @JackHSR5N6

I have verified the failure to export (even on Inventor 2025). I suspect it may be geometry specific as the model extents of the part seems very big. Interestingly it works fine if I STEP out and STEP back in.

I have forwarded the issue to our translator team to take a look. The other issue you are referring to has been resolved and continues to stay resolved and may be unrelated to this issue. Thank you for reporting this.

Thanks

Hello Jack,

I have created a new defect on our side to track this and the translator team will investigate this. You can use this INVGEN-79885 for reference this issue with us in the future.

In the meanwhile if you can work with STEP files, you can export this file as STEP - that seems to produce the correct output geometry.

Thanks for reporting this issue.

Hi @JackHSR5N6

It looks like the solid model is located far away from the origin. Here's what we found out:

"Parasolid requires all parts of a body to be within a box whose size is 1000 x 1000 x 1000 (in meters), and is centered at the origin(0,0,0)However, the sweep object in the model is out of modeling limits".

As a workaround, you might want to ask the original author of the parasolids file to fix it up and send an updated model.

Thanks
