Inventor 2020 cannot find custom materials on older files.

Just upgraded to 2020 from 2017, and found my first red flag.  (build 373, release 2020.3.2)

We have a small handful of custom materials that we've added to the standard.ipt from years ago.  But the new Inventor 2020 does not see these customer materials on all non-2020 files.  New parts created in 2020 are fine (these customer materials were added in 2020's standard.ipt) [saving the file to 2020 doesn't help]

As shown in the image below...Inventor 2017 sees the custom materials just fine.  But if I open the file in 2020, they are missing.   What am I missing?

Have you tried migrating your old materials to 2020?

I was able to fix this just now by making a backup of the 2020 Materials folder and replaced it with the 2017 Materials folder.
