Inventor 2020 Assembly instability when deleting

Hey all,

Has any one been experiencing issues with assemblies they create in 2020? yesterday and today, with two different models, my assemblies started to crash on me when I try to delete something from the assembly. It won't matter whose computer it is tried on either, once the assembly starts crashing upon deleting it will crash on anyones computer when trying to delete an object.

I was able to work on my assembly yesterday for about an hour before I started experiencing these issues, this file was made in 2019 and moved to 2020. Today I have been working on this model since about 9 AM and within the past half hour it has begun crashing on me everytime I try and delete an object. The assembly I am working on is from today, all new components.

Installing the newest updates hasn't fixed these issues at all. I had reported at least two of the crashes yesterday and and received and email from the CER team about sending them the model giving me issues yesterday, but no one has emailed me back with the FTP link like I was told they would if I needed it (which I had emailed back asking for...).

Inventor 2020

Build: 239, release: 2020.1

All problem reports show a fault module of Fault Module Name: StackHash_a905

Regards,

Kristin

Hi Kristin,

The behavior does not look right to me. Did you submit crash report? If yes, please send me an email (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com) so I can look at the report.

Many thanks!

Hi Kristin,

We looked into the reports further and found out it could be Vault Add-In related. Do you have a set of files and steps to reproduce the crash persistently?

Many thanks!

Johnson,

I have one assembly that will still consistently crash when deleting objects.

The other assembly that was crashing was fixed by disabling add-ins that weren't in use, but unfortunately it didn't fix both.

Johnson,

I now no longer have the issue. Our IT did a couple different things on my computer and was getting weird behavior from my assembly (They could delete certain objects and not crash the assembly but one specific part would, unless you deleted a different part first).

Ultimately, they made sure my graphics were all up to date, made sure my program was pointing at a specific graphics card (which it was, and it is a good card as well), and finally did a reinstall of the software.

If I notice this behavior again, I will update here.

Cheers.
