I am new to using the nesting utility and I would like to know if there is some way to "not" include suppressed parts in an assembly that is ilogic, other then creating the nest and deleting them?

Hi @michelle_pearson ,
Thanks for reaching out. There are different ways to exclude parts from getting nested:

1. Either set the BOM Structure property for the component to "Purchased"; OR
2. Set the BOM Qty = 0; OR
3. In the Model browser, right-click the item and select Exclude From Nesting

Items marked as excluded will not be extracted for nesting. When this is applied to parent level document, its children will also inherit this flag and thus get excluded from nesting.
4. The last method - delete them from sources after they have been extracted. This is the least favorable one due to obvious reasons. And upon a re-sync the sources will get re-extracted.

Hope this answers your question. Thanks,
Ravi J

Unfortunately I was hoping for a better method.  When I go to the BOM because it is a suppressed part it is grayed out so you can't change anything, and to Exclude From Nesting you have to have to open the part to exclude it, which can be time consuming.

We have an extensive library of Ilogic assemblies that we use and I was hoping for a more effcient method to exclude those suppressed parts from the nest, but thank you!
