Inventor 2020.2 Bug Report

Just had a customer contact me on Tech Support reporting that after installing the latest Inventor 2020 update the Multi-Sheet Plot to PDF is no longer creating searchable PDF files.

By rolling back the update the functionality returns and the PDF files that are generated are searchable again.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

By "Multi-sheet plot to PDF" do you mean Saving or Exporting to PDF or Using "print" and using some sort of PDF printer? Or something else?

They're using the built in Adobe PDF converter.

Works fine until they install the Inventor 2020.2 Update

This is new to me. It is possible some dependent components in Inventor were not properly updated. I need to work with the project team to understand the behavior better.

Thanks John! Please let me know if you need anything further from myself or the customer to help identify a root cause.

I know the 2020.2 update had some massaging of the way that 3d PDF files were working with unresolved references but looking through the release notes I didn't see anything else that jumped out as possibly impacting regular 2d PDF files.

Hi David,

The issue had been reported as INVGEN-33614. The latest status shows it has been fixed as of our latest internal build targeting 2020.3.  If you want to have the fix sooner, please contact Autodesk Product Support and mention the defect ID INVGEN-33614.
